The North Carolina Museum of Art

College Night

Friday, April 20 | 7 pm
East Building
Free for students with current college ID

Prepare for a radically different Museum experience, with great food and a chance to meet students from all over the state. Inspired by the environmental themes in the work of El Anatsui, the evening embraces the concept of repurpose. Explore the special exhibition El Anatsui: When I Last Wrote to You about Africa during this interactive event. Bring a shirt to try your hand at screen-printing and take home a souvenir from College Night.

At 7:30pm, Johnston Community College’s ‘JperCCussion’ group will perform jazz, chamber, and world music using recycled materials like cardboard boxes, aerosol cans, wine glasses and plastic hangers.

At 8:30 pm, ‘Talkin’ Trash’ from East Carolina University will combine elements of jazz dance, hip-hop, and step movement for a unique performance you do not want to miss. Students from the Art Institutes will DJ and emcee the event all night.

RSVP to the Facebook event.

Planned by our College Advisory Council. For more information call Michelle Harrell, (919) 664-6853.
