Support the NCMA Foundation on June 8 when you say YES! at Art of the Auction

Thank you to all of the artists who said “Yes!” to art by entering work for consideration in the 2013 Art of the Auction, the NCMA’s lively annual benefit celebrating creativity and supporting the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation. We were thrilled to hear from new artists and auction alums from all over North Carolina and beyond.

The Museum relies on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations to provide more than 70 percent of our programmatic and operational needs. Your support of Art of the Auction plays an integral role in helping us raise critical funds.

Our distinguished jury—Edie Carpenter, director of Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art; Heather Garrett of Heather Garrett Interior Design Inc.; and Noelle Ocon, NCMA conservator—met in December to review over 400 submissions. After thoughtful review, they selected 76 works of art across all mediums. The following artists’ work will be on view in East Building from May 17 through June 8:

One work of art will be chosen by distinguished artist Hoss Haley as Best in Show, earning $3,000 and inclusion in the live auction. Two additional cash prizes will be awarded to artists whose work the juror considers exceptional. We invite the public to enjoy an evening of art and celebration when we announce the winners on Friday, May 17, at the Auction Preview party.
