The Museum welcomes Thomas Michie to talk about the decorative objects in the exhibition Still-Life Masterpieces. Michie, the senior curator of decorative arts and sculpture at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, discusses “art of the table” in fine dining in the 18th and 19th centuries, the impact of scientific knowledge and naturalism on ceramics, and the emphasis on personal narratives and found objects in contemporary art.
